yup, saw that already.
Really good! :)
I am buying one very soon. But the problem is you need to make your own cable for GPS connection with this board. :/
Arduflyer supplies that cable if you with it with GPS.
Cool. Let me know how it goes. Still waiting for reviews by users. Have had problems with their MinimOSD. Wonder if the two HK components will be compatible.
The one from rctimer seems a bit better than this. Rahul it would be better if you got that, or if you waited for some review of the HK one. This is not part by part a clone of the original unlike the Rctimer one.
Okay Lastrites, I will wait for someone to review.
Another problem is that we need to make our own connector wire for connecting it to the hkflyer
Yeah that's a bummer. Best go for the rctimer one. Many use it and there is not much of a difference between the prices. DON'T skimp on the fc. Its the only thing that you can use for all your aircrafts, plus for a multirotor that is the single most important component.
yup yup, the problem is I cant use paypal, do you know any service which can pay through paypal if I pay them cash?
You can pay using a credit card on RcTIMER.
thats the problem :( I dont have a credit card. parents not making a credit card. and debit cards dont work with paypal.
Contact adiboy. I think he'll be able to help you.
okay. okay
If anyone has ordered one, please post buddy code.
Thanks
@Rahul: HK accepts cash via Western Union though the rates may be a burden. If there's enough of an interest I don't mind ordering a few. But I'm still waiting for reviews before I commit.
I am already ordering 2APMs and 2 GPS 6H modules. and I think hobbyking accepts indian debit cards. mine worked for the last two orders.
By the grace of gods and fellowship, for a change, HK delivered on time and as per spec., actually more than spec.
So I have X-plus number of the HKPilots (Yup, we bought out their entire stock, so they BK now!@!!). More than we need. So send me your proposal and I gift you one for free. Thus far, ALL work. Need airspeed sensors to complete test.
So, 20-plus boards, 50+ GPS receivers in my hand...

Sir, thats awesome!
wow, even i have one set stuck in customs for last 6 weeks . lol
but Sir why so many of them?
Hi Pravesh,
I've not been in the office for a while so don't know the details yet... PA tells me one of the new EDP clerks punched in an extra digit here and there on my order. I ordered a couple extras just in case one or two of them were duds. I'll have the company clerks check when HK shipped and how long the packages were stuck in Kolkata customs. HK was smart in shipping them in different packages. Irony is that I received the PCBs and essential SMT components at the same time from Thai fab. Don't need compass, accelerometer for my application so have the pared down Eagle schematics.
Sarah from HK actually PM-ed my IT guy to confirm the order and offered to break up the shipment.
Haven't tested all the GPS modules yet. The first dozen plus all function as per specs. I'm happily surprised with HK. Soldering needs rework here and there, and my boys will be desoldering and inserting side headers.
My offer still stands. If anyone on a limited budget needs one, send me a proposal. I hate things gathering dust in almirah and I doubt HK will pay for me to ship back the excess.
Best,
Vikram
which gps module 6H?
Gentlemen, First of all, I am happy with the responses we've received requesting one of the APM clones. I repeat again, please send me a formal proposal: Executive summary, mission statement, airframe, propulsion, avionics, etc. To me it's a corporate tax write-off. But I am not giving them away for free, no questions asked. So, DO NOT PM me, etc., saying you'd like to get into this trade and "can I have one please Sir."
@Rahul, haven't done a head count yet but looks like HK shipped both LEAH and NEO modules. My boys are replacing the vertical headers for 90-degree siders. Only problem thus far I've seen with naked eye is bad soldering. Guess it's RoHs compliant shit. My old macroscopes and microscopes are on the road with Gusty, I'm guessing.
Thus far, I'm very impressed with HK. All five I personally tested work (via MissionPlanner, not in the air, yet). Firmware upgrade was automatic, via various com-ports on the office machines as well as my laptops. The IT guys will let me know by this evening on status of remaining. I cannot in good faith return the excess APMs and GPS modules to HK just because an intern clerk punched wrong number. Better these stay in India.
I repeat, I'll send have an APM-clone with GPS module and cable harness shipped to you free if your techno-feasibility report merits it. Just don't give me a baby please sir please request. I need more meat. I received a request from (*&^) who wants to use it on a self-homing torpedo platform. Raj, yours is in the mail. Post results and pics!
okay sir, i hope i get one for free.
and I heard the GPS antenna is soldered wrong?
How are you powering it this board?
and will you be using it on a multirotor or a plane?
Because I only build multirotors.
Hi guys,
There's an overwhelming response. Let's try and avoid PMs and post directly over here, especially WRT technical issues. Will try and answer all your questions.
The HK LEA modules are plug and play right out of the box. There have been reported wiring issues with the NEOs so I have not bothered to checking them out yet. Can't find my anti-static mats. Power right now is via a home-brew LM317T linear regulator on stripboard, the 7805 linear work as well. I'm waiting for my fab unit to send me the PCBs for the APM Power Module which are same Eagle files as posted on diydrones. Remember, they have juice only to power the APM, RC receiver and GPS. Don't connect the RFD900 or other telemetry radio. It is not designed to power servos. Use your aircraft's own ESC/BEC for that.
My tech guys pointed out a few of the boards which need re-soldering just for physical strength in vibration-prone airframes. The HKPilot lacks headers for airspeed, pressure, and temperature sensory. For side-entry, 90-degree headers need to be soldered in.
Initial testing on bench and in the Maruti workshop indicates HK did a really good job. I wonder who their PnP fab unit is. we can discuss all day the ethical issues of favoring this one of the 3DR but from a technical standpoint, you can't differentiate between the two. (I should know, I have a few 3DRs). Have not got around to testing the airspeed sensors due to fu*&ed up quality control on 3DR kits.
My clerks informed me first batch have been sent out to Raj, IIT-Kharagpur, and Presidency College. Latter is my wife's alma mater and one who must be obeyed is less angry with this over-order.
WRT your proposals, gentlemen, why don't you follow style, structure, format, etc., of an academic dissertation, thesis. There are plenty of UAV ones available online. I am partial to my MIT ones. Now if you claim your airframe will have FLIR, IR, thermal imaging sensory, I'm guessing you can afford the 3DR or HK clone. And guys, please don't send me links explaining to arduplane, arducopter sites. Hello, I've been using them since oil-pan days.
At this end, I'm hoping to get a few seniors to help me with the selection process.
Are you interested In selling these? I would not mind trying a hk pilot apm for the following reasons
1)As my second one from rctimer is still in customs .
2) economically and diplomatically don't want to pour money into another country when it's available here itself. It's very little amount but still .
3) headaches.
To all those who asked me. No, I don't want to sell them. They were purchased through my company accounts. The paperwork my employees will have to fulfill for me is too much headache. Overnight we cant go from selling cinema tickets, rum, whisky, wine, Tata, Marutis to an autopilot. Not in any of our companies charter. Hope you understand. I know it will require heads of my purchasing, warehouse, sales divisions to get together to coordinate.
Last three left with matching gps receivers. Let's do fixed wing this time... Feel free to re-submit
last call
HKAP couple on the the block left
Hmmm... Kids, and you know who you are... Do an OT&E of them both before you voice opinion. I have few rctimer... This batch from HK kicks ass.

BS son. I bought numbers of RCtimer... Right now I am getting reports of Six Sigma performance of all the boards from HK. RCT has yet to reimburse me for faulty/fried SMDs. HK has the decency to send me a dozen of their new hard cases.
Please note the date of the post :) I asked Rahul to either wait for a review or get the rctimer one. So, my post was not BS at the time ;D
Any HK ones Left? :)
I already have a 3DR one complete set with current sensor, GPS, 433 & 900 Mhz telemetry & Ramzibi OSD & minimal OSD, which is getting integrated for both a fixed wing and a Multirotor.
However would be great to do a parallel review with a HK one.
Mea culpa, you're right. Sorry. I believe HK is now using a different fab shop and PnP unit. These boards have much higher QC than their minimOSD and 3DR radio clones.
I'm keeping a couple just in case. A couple of the young lads are supposed to resubmit their proposals and I'd given them verbal that I'd hold theirs until they get back to me. If I don't hear from them, I can see one going to the East Khasi Hills. And yeah, I'm all for hearing review side by side with 3DR. I had expected to see exactly such a comparison test but other than the discussion groups at HK, not a peep at diydrones. In fact both threads dedicated to the HKPilot at diydrones have been shut down for political reasons. Right now I see no difference. Alas both my 3DR airspeed sensors are faulty so I cannot check on those functions.
At this end, I wonder what APM 3.0 will be like when ARM Cortex SmartAP comes out. Tried to get on beta test list but they're currently only handing them out to rotary-wing guys. The presentation (youtube) is... well, lets hope they can deliver the goods.
