Title: mathematical background of quadrotor
Post by: avigyan.chatterjee on June 14, 2014, 12:25:48 PM
I am going to make a quadrotor. For that purpose I have searched internet a lot. My budget  is about 8000-10000 and I want to make small quadrotor  about 330-450mm size. I have found that in various websites there are different rate of different parts.
Shop              Parts               Quantity                               Price                     Total
RcDhmaka   Emax2822 BLDC             4                               595                      2380

RcDhmaka   Hobbywing Skywalker
                20A Brushless ESC
                                             4                                659                      2636
RCBazaar   KK MultiCopter V5.5
                with programmer &
                  distribution board
                                            1                               1,700                      1,700
RCBazaar   Quadcopter propellers
                      8 x 4.5 (black)
                                           2 set                                110                        220
                                                                                                      total       6936

I already have Lipo battery , HK tx-rx set, Velcro strip etc.
I want to make the frame myself with aluminum rectangular sticks. But I cannot understand what is the relationship between prop size and all over weight and the dimension of the frame.
Is there any mathematical formulation behind it. I think obviously it has.
Though I have mentioned above about the motor, but I don’t know whether it is suitable for this purpose or not. If not plz suggest me.

use 10" props not 8"

while making a customized multirotor please keep in mind what is your  auw weight and what is the maximum thrust produced by the motors (totalling all four if a quad)
the total thrust produced by the motors divided by 2 has to be your max auw
that is a basic formula

and if you are looking for greater flight time
lower kv motors
bigger props while keeping the g/win mind   should be above 11
then get a decent flight time
it again depends on how good the frame/balanced props/material used /motors/esc/batt mah to weight to  ratio is

the output that you will get is a fast and powerful multirotor(depends on flight control board  used and its pid settings ) where motors dont get hot (warm is ok )
and a decent flight time of 15 to 20 mins.....

hope this will help
Happy Flying

what is fcb and pid?
how can I measure the motor efficiency or is it supplied with the motor manual?

sorry for using shortcuts
fcb=flight control board
pid= you can refer to this http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1375728 (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1375728)

Many many thanks Chintal for your help. If I get any problem i'll contact with u. your website is not opening now. can get quad parts within my budget from u(8000-10000)?
with regards
