hello @maddaquif
well the hole size is due to chinese clone its not for any type of motor as per my knowledge correct me if am wrng well reagrding the motor mounting on these arms most of the copters i made were on 2 screws ( was lazy u can say )  well it wont affect till it doesnt generate vibrations ,for mounting motors you can screw them or else you can use motor mounts and ziptie them :)
all the best :) :thumbsup:
Title: XY 500 REPTILE FRAME ISSUES AND QUESTIONS
Post by: madaquif on August 31, 2015, 05:56:44 PM
i have purchased multiple items from quadkopters i.e. satya sir....and  every time the products were satisfactory as the products are of fairly good quality..

Only this time i experienced this issue, seems like a quality control glitch or some thing.
i have emailed satya sir with the images....lets see what the expert has to suggest...

@cyberhack...thx for ur reply n pm...:)
AFAIK ...zip ties will generate vibrations in the longer run...which is highly unacceptable in my case...

A related question..  Is there any provision to fit the standard 60mm camera rails on this frame?

@medicineman....I don't think its possible....

again depends on your power setup and weight of the "standard 60mm camera"

No no..  U misunderstood.  I didnt mean a 60mm camera.  I meant the two 10mm rods that are put under the frame from which the camera gimbal/battery tray hangs.  The distance between those 2 rods is a standard 60mm for most frames.

So i went ahead and tried to send in replacement for the arms. But i came to know that all the arms have some holes. I did sent the question to supplier and they said "Thats how it is and every frame that has that arm would have same kind of holes. There would not be any problem in mounting screws and it would hold the motors perfectly"

I was out yesterday whole days so i could not get to test, but i will test with couple of motors with regular M3 size screws and update if there is any issues with mounting motors over it.

I personally have tested the arms and found that it's causing no problem in using the arms while mounting the motors. And there was no problem at all, the screws where fit and tight. You can use some washers if you want but does not seems to have any problem in using them
