Hi everyone,
I want to buy a new JR XG 6 Channel Tx. Can anybody tell me should i go with this Tx or not and what are the drawbacks of this brand and Tx ?
JR Brand is just First Class and very reliable DMSS Technology . Just a issue - Receivers are pretty expensive . Though there are Cheap clones short range rx available on Hobbyking but still . Transmitter got many advanced functions . Your choice Depends what size or model you fly . XG6 looks kind of Toyish but yeah awesome radio . And The Telemetry is Bonus . I prefer XG8
Just go for it :)

I have the XG8 and i must say its one hell of a radio. It has got very extensive programming options. Plus, you can't go wrong with JR.
You may want to look here (for comparison between similar products):

Can't say about XG6 without first hand experience, but am very happy with XG8, as dhruva said, telemetry is a bonus.
After talking about all the positives, as an owner, i kinda was let down by the fact that there are not much BNF versions available for this radio (but again this may not be too much of an issue unless you are in the market to buy a model)
It really depends on what type of flying you do and what stage of the hobby you are in.For eg. If you are into helis.. then six channels might prove to be a channel short ..considering dfc is the norm now, although you can fly nevertheless by assigning the gyro gain function on the travel adjustment function.. etc. The point is you have to give up on some functions to have some. In short.. compromises. And if you you are an advanced pilot in aeroplanes then you might miss the extra channels to control the flaps, landing gears, smoke etc..
Hi,
I am not heli lover. I fly nitro and electric planes also quadcopter
In Future will go for 3D flying. More suggestions welcome
One more thing to take note of.. should you opt for the Xg6 is it doesn't come with rechargeable nimh or lipo batteries. Therefore, it's a pain sometimes to buy new AA batteries each time you decide to fly.If you can live with it... man it's one helluva radio.. or better still go for a Tx lipo..
But i can use rechargeable battery like sanyo , everready ultima etc. Or only use and through type batteries.
