Anwar Sahab,
I didn't want to talk about this, however, this video compelled me to spill the beans.
I will have something to add to this on the 26th. or 27th. Feb. I will be conducting a workshop for 150+ students on the basics of Aeromodelling at Guwahati, Assam. The students will undergo a theory class on flight dynamics, video demonstrations and thereafter they will be constructing their own gliders out of Depron and Bamboo. I plan to have a 150+ models in the air after 4 hours.
Several of my models will be on display (I hope that inspires them to greater heights). This shall be (hopefully) the first step to establishing the first ever Aeromodelling Hobby Club in Eastern India (Not aware if other parts of India have already established clubs/associations) and it shall be a dream come true for me. I want to take this hobby to the grassroot levels, Minimal cost, Maximum enjoyment, Endless learnings.
Wish us luck, as my team and I have struggled very hard to make this event happen. This, we believe, is just the beginning.
Regards,
VC
looks like a CL plane from Aerosports, Kerala if I am not mistaken.
@ VC
Best of Luck
Sanjay
Thats one earnest effort VC. All the best. At least few people are doing 'Social Service' for the 'future' Aeromodeling fraternity. As far as they are chuck gliders (no Radio), I think authorities have NO say in this.
Thanks everybody! Will keep you all posted on how it turns out. One thing for certain, we can look forward to the addition of some new members to the forum from Assam. You can count on me for that!
All the very best to you VC. do count on me in case u need some help.
best of luck
ashta

Thats a commendable effort. Keep it up and Keep us posted.
Sandy, Anwar Sahab, Ashta Sir, Shrikant, Shriharishine and all the others,
We are overwhelmed by your good wishes. Whatever happens, on the 26th, we are going to enjoy ourselves. We can promise you that! What's more, we should be able to usher in some Lady members into the RCIndia forum (I wonder if there are any ladies present at all), as 25% of our team shall comprise ladies who wish to learn Aeromodelling and get into RC.
Cheers!

VC's classes seem to be going pretty well
Hi All,
We had an enjoyable day today! Am too pooped to talk about it and post photographs/vids now. Went to sleep at 6am today and woke up at 8am. Worked the whole night to get 3 aircraft ready for display. It is approaching midnight, will post in detail tomorrow.
I was overwhelmed by the zeal and enthusiasm of the youngsters who attended the workshop. My Salutes and a hearty warm welcome to the eight members who have already registered on the forum. Thank you!
God bless!

Was there a demo of some RC flying also ?
That is a job well done and commendable VC. I must really appreciate your efforts on this.
Painting on each one of the plane reflects the dedication with which, each one of your students in the workshop has created a masterpiece for self.
Congratulations VC {:)} {:)} {:)} {:)}
With innovative way to scavenge depron from those plates and those bright glean in those bunch of kids, you reminds me Amir Khan's school from 3 Idiots!!
I wish I had an angel Aeromodler like you visiting my school himself, instead of me cycling 15Km to visit that old NCC instructor for Aeromodeling tips!!
Kudos!! VC sir!! :salute:
Gentlemen, you heap undeserving praise on me. I just did what came naturally and I am sure you all would have done the same, if not more. Its a pity that my knowledge is so limited, because these bright students want to learn so much. I wish I could do more.
RC flying demo is the next planned activity. We have planned it for the last week of this month.
Regards,
VC
"innovative way to scavenge depron from those plates" All thanks to Col Sundaram. The inspiration came from his ideas.............. :salute:

I don't think there is anyone who has not appreciated the effort you have put into the project, so accept the accolades coming your way. I was wondering if you could put together a template for one - or more - modules that could be used by others wanting to do something similar.
I have been in touch with Mumbai University and would like, if feasible, to do a workshop in the summer vacation. Your inputs would help greatly.
Thanks in advance !
Sushil,
Frankly, I am overwhelmed by the appreciation that has come my way and I REALLY don't think I deserve all of it.
I would be delighted to help out in any way for you to conduct a similar / better workshop. Just let me know. I also plan to take up this activity as a summer vacation workshop for young people in the 14 - 17 age group.
Warm regards,
VC
Awaiting your inputs. I am looking at a younger age group, 8 - 12 year olds.
Catch them young ;D
