Just search for "fedex", you will get a fair idea of how such parcel companies operate.

Basically they are less hassle at a higher cost, as they handle customs clearance for you. They also seem to have some kind of fast-track at customs. But if there is a serious objection from customs (which seems to be rare, considering the working relationship between them), then you are on your own.

Not sure which batteries you want , but shipping through EMS/FedEx/DHL would 100% attract customs, always not counted while comparing prices between LHS and West, plus extremely high prices of the shipping itself. If you can find those batteries from LHS, go for them. Else be ready for customs. But taking enough precautions, you should get batteries through customs without much problem. Dont under invoice too much and ensure your LHS puts the invoice on the package.

hi,

while placing order at hk, ensure your parcel is not more than a 1 kg.

if you req 4 lipos. order in a qty of 2.

place separate order for servos.

give 3 different addresses for each parcel. also when u chkout your cart. keep the 30% default invoice and chk as gift.

i generally keeps my packages below 100$ or less than a kg. makes things easy as small packages move easily.

i have been ordering from hk for a year ,i am a platinum member now.

I absolutely ditto what Sandy says (seems all Sandy's have the same opinion) !!
I get batts regularly as Rx, servos and other stuff from HK and SDShobby and always by post. IMHO Fedex and dhl have no setting with the customs, at least not for us normal souls, maybe for big ticket customers.
Chose gift/ 30-50% value and post parcel with tracking. I usually get my packages in 2-3 weeks delivered home.
And most importantly - I give 100 bucks to the postman, always :-) I get my packages in good condition express delivered 1st thing in the morning.
Cheers..

Not sure we are setting the right example by openly discussing undervaluing of invoices.  While it seems that even customs folks know about this, this is setting a bad guideline for newcomers.

Fair or not, customs charges are part of the law, and we are breaking it openly by such candid admissions.
