  Hello everyone,
I'm new here,I'm 14 and French, I live india since 3 years and I am gonna star rc aeromodeling this summer in France with my cousin ,so before I want to buy things in hobbyking, so does anyone had any problem with the delivery ?
What transport did you chose ? EMS Express or Air parcel ? And last thing how much time would it take coming to India ?

Thanks

Welcome to RC India :)  Good to see you getting into RC, wish you all the best.

This topic has been discussed many times.  Please search using the words "Hobbycity" and "Hobbyking", and read through those threads.  I have posted the direct search links below.

These should give you a fairly balanced picture of many experiences ordering from HK. Let us know if you have specific questions AFTER reading through the search results.

Hi,

EMS is best option, but right now there is some problem in shipping from hongkong. Bcoz, one of this forum's member Ritesh (username: sethji) have the problem with the shipping(EMS) from HK and one of my order shipped through "Air Parcel" also have not yet reached India (as per the shipping status).

So please wait until other members of this forum reply...

Ok I'll wait, since when have you ordered ?

I just want to know if anyone already had a problem with Airparcel delivery ?
And how much time will it take to deliver it in Delhi ?

Thanks
:)

I have never faced issues even with unregistered Air mail ($12/$14) .. EMS may get you a little faster as Hobby king process them on 'Priority', but be certain to pay hefty customs, which is usually saved on smaller Air Mail packets.
Their $2.99 for 100g is such a sweet deal - you don't end up filling unnecessary items in bigger packets when you just need that small item which was on backorder for long.

sriharishine, thanks for your PM... I am  :) you got your TP combo (I had ordered one of those too) !

No, I still have not received my EMS package from HK. After reading your and Subbu's (username - Pikle6 here) post, I have lost any and all hope of receiving my package. As such, I filed a non-delivery claim to PAYPAL. Hopefully, I will receive my money back.

Hi Ritesh,

I think subbu can help you a lot in this case.

And dont try paypal claim for now, Just confirm the parcel status by calling them with the help of subbu. Then you can decide. As far as I see, the problem is not with HK but with EMS, So get them in phone.

Hi,
I sell HobbyKing products in India. As for the EMS is concerned, there was a problem with HONKKONG POST, but now it is resolved. My order was shipped out on 6 may and i recieved it on 8 may through EMS.
You were talking about customs. In some random checking, if your parcel is opened, it will be charged, but it wont be a very high amount. But it takes a lot of time, upto a month.

There are already others like you in the country, saving people from customs/shipping hassle ;). Hope you at least keep the original label  :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: so that others can read the reviews. Stock up man...way to go ;) ;)

do unregistered airmail have a tracking

NO! and its not worth it. If post man steals it its gone, and Hobby king clearly says its not taking any resposibility for lost packets.

Instead make the parcel slightly bigger by getting more of your buddies buy stuff from there  ;) and share the parcel.

This is what my self and ujjwaana do. We always share a parcel so that its always almost a 750 grams AirMail and we rarely paid customs.

no unregistered mail do not have any tracking system... it is like putting your parcel in a letter box...

though it is safe in honk kong, but it is unsafe in india. the postman usually open such parcels and then the parcels are lost. it is really unsafe...

hi,

I have a difference of opinion.

I have received almost 30~40 parcel till now at my delhi address without even one of them missing. Never ever i have asked for a tracking number from any of the sellers.

All the stuff has been from hong kong and has always arrived on the 15 day ( I dont know how).

But the strange thing is the amount charged by indian post ( Delhi to hong kong - warranty claims to Hobby King)
Rs 42 - Without tracking no , Rs 57 with Tracking number.
Latest is that the indian post has refused to send without tracking number, anyway it is very fairly charged
I dont know why Sellers(hong kong) charge very high amount for a tracking number

But all i can conclude is, it is very cheap but time consuming to order from Hong kong.

I have a different story to tell. I have lost 3 parcels from EBAY till date out of the 6 I had ordered(from Ebay itself.) SO I always ask them to ship using registered post by paying 2$ more. Probably the Post man in your area is a honest guy ;)

BTW what was the size of your parcel that you shipped?

Yes it was towerpro combo...

There are similar combos available locally too these days, like the ones from RCDhamaka (assuming they are in stock). If they have gone out of stock, that is a good indication to the hobby stores about the demand for these :)

i think that LHS are not doing a proper import of R/C accessories as i have seen a lot of time that a particular proudct is not available in quantity with any of the LHS. if anybody is importing of r/c product then why they are not importing in quantity?
