Title: Problem with RC Dhamaka
Post by: Fw190 on July 25, 2011, 05:34:03 PM
Hi everyone! I had recently ordered for 10- 2mm carbon fiber rods from a website called RCDhamaka on the 6th of this month. The order status still shows processing at nearly the end of this month, the website assures that the materials ordered ships within 2-3 days of payment.
Can anyone please give me some info about the
i)website(those who have previously ordered from it)  & ii)amount of time it would require for the processing & the shipment to be sent?(Im not even considering the time required for it to reach me)

I am currently stalled in mid project because I haven't got my rods yet.........

Did you try to contact RCDhamaka by Email or over the phone before pressing the panic button ? They might have already sent and the item might have got stuck.

BTW CF Rod shipment is known for trouble from many LHS/Western shop, mostly getting damaged due to fragility and bad handling of postal/courier folks

Try to contact Mr Sanjeev of RC Dhamaka and I am more than sure he would resolve your issue in no time.

See,
Online hobby stores have reputations to protect. There are many reasons for a delayed shipment.
Kindly post details of your conversation with the owners. If they have posted the package get the tracking number.
Try and present a complete and fair picture of the entire transaction - before posting a topic like this.
Also people never post the follow up after the problem is resolved.
I and many others have found RC dhamaka to be a reliable dealer.
Was the material you ordered in stock with them at the time of the order.

I recently had an incident when my package was not dispatched for 3 weeks.
The shop owner clarified that there were a few personel issues and apologized for the delay. That doesn't mean that there was a problem with the dealer.
Another person had sent some radios for repair and the hobby shop asked for confirmation of payment before returning the repaired radio.
The person did not have any proof but insisted he had paid. Well so there are always 2 sides to a story.
While this forum is a good place to warn people about shady dealers, it should not be used to unfairly tarnish reputations.

I think we will end up making a rule that such threads should state clearly what methods were used to contact the seller, and what the outcome was.  Otherwise we will end up with lots of unnecessary "LHS issues" threads here.

RCD seems to be having some problems with DTDC Couriers handling of CF Rods. My consignment also arrived broken 2 or 3 weeks ago( I didn't accept delivery) and I am waiting for my replacements to arrive.

I've spoken with Kartick last week and he was still waiting for DTDC to return the consignment to him.

Hi VC,
I have had the issue discussed with Sanjeev few times. I suggested him to use PVC pipes used in drainage to pack CF Rods. His take was that people are not ready to pay for the extra packing and extra shipping to added weight. This is really funny as people are fine with paying Rs 600+ extra for the 350g Hobby King adds for 'Extra Large Box' for shipping CF rods via EMS.
Then there are occasional low volume orders (4-5 rods) which makes it more difficult to the LHS to arrange logistics.

Anwar, it would be real good to put these as hard requirement before jumping with the post. Better delete such thread where the buyer does not provide such information even after asking. It gives such a wrong picture of  LHS when it is not entirely their fault!!

Just to remind you, Hobby King, ganged with PayPal blatantly refused AkshayB's claim of missing items.

I think using PVC pipes is a good idea and serious modellers wouldn't mind paying the extra bit. Besides, Kartick pointed out that he had seen the courier guys fooling around with cardboard tubes at the airport - whacking each other with them being least bothered to find out what is inside them. Whether it is a large painting / carbon rod - Shame!

Give the OP some time to respond to all our questions about details, including whether any phone calls were made.  Note that he did not blame RCD in a totally negative sense, he is just asking what seems like a genuine question to him.  But common sense does dictate that some alternate follow-up should have been done by him, and the details of the same posted here.

"Note that he did not blame RCD in a totally negative sense, he is just asking what seems like a genuine question to him."

I completely agree as I happen to know FW 190 personally and he is not that sort of a person.

let me be very clear about what my intentions were when I posted this thread-
i) It is my least intention to 'tarnish' any RC suppliers image, to be precise all I wanted to say was that I am having a problem with RCD rather than that RCD has a 'problem'.
ii) It is the 1st time I have used NEFT transfer to pay online for any RC material (not with just RCD).So, pardon me if I am a bit panicy.
iii) I wanted info only to make sure that I will not have to worry about reordering.(I am dangerously low on reserves so you can understand my concern).
iv)I am not quite sure how much time processing actually takes(it can be that RCD has received many orders so that my ones taking time)so I posted this msg to get the idea from the feedback.(Even though my post makes it seem I am accusing RCD of slow delivery).
v)And yes, the CF rods were shown as available when I ordered, and I received a confirmation order (2401) after payment.
vi) And no, I hadn't contacted Mr Sanjeev before I posted this thread. So, could anyone give me his no. please ?

Fw190 - Please note that you are partially being the victim of some recent history of this forum... do take it easy :)

That said, people do expect you to use the "Contact Us" page/information of any place you buy online from (not just RCD), and try to call those numbers when things are not moving as expected.  This is something all of us do in online shopping, without having to get the personal contact numbers of anyone associated with such stores (Sanjeev or Karthik in this case).

The BIG question is, have you done that..  ie, calling the contact number(s) on this page : http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=contact_us ?  Were they available/helpful ? That is what everyone was commenting about.

All right, I'll be frank, now that you have mentioned about the 'contact us' option I do seem to have missed it completely( everyone has their 1st time mistakes). Ok then,I'll post again about what they have to say after I have contacted them.

I had a good experiences  with RCD, the packing are good, always arrived unbroken, only problem is, its a  long journey for us northeast if carried by surface. :giggle:

Here's the contact number for RCD: +918032712930 (copied from their page)
Even I am waiting for my Carbon Fiber Rods since past 8 days. I had a talk with RCD and they said they're facing issues with courier packages, so there's nothing to worry at all.
They'll ship the items surely with 24hrs from now.

DTDC is pathetic these days. With my last Carbon Fiber parcel, I just got the package, but no item inside it, they just delivered me a nice empty cardboard package (good to make a telescope)!  ;D
But I finally got the item, I was pleased with RCD for their support!
Cheers!

Have a great day! ;)

Oh you got a problem with DTDC out there too, I was thinking we northeast only have a problem with them.  ;D ;D

LOL! ;)
DTDC sometimes find hard to manage parcels.....
Imagine if DTDC handles HobbyKing parcel!!!! WOW- all the parcels will 100% clear the customs as there'll be no item inside the packages, just simple cardboard boxes..!!!! ;D ;D

Enjoy!

My best courier experience has always been with SPEED POST.
Most of the expensive courier guys outsource a fair bit of their last mile work at each end.
I have tracked a DTDC package which reached Noida to my local dtdc hub in 30 hours.
The local guy whose shop is 100metres from home sat on it for 48hours till i went to collect it.
Also as far as on line ordering with at least Indian dealers go,
I always speak to the person first on the phone. They often advise regarding problems/ delays that can occur.
regards,
Avijit

Spoke with Sanjeev earlier this evening who is trying his best to procure extra strong cardboard tubes and ship out by tomorrow. Failing which he will have to fall back on PVC pipes.

Sanjeev, I have upped my previous pending order from 6 to 12 CF 2mm rods + 2 Props. Made balance payment though my ICICI a/c. Screenshot attached for your reference. Please pack FW 190's consignment along with mine and send it all to my address. he will collect his stuff from me.

FW 190, I hope this is OK with you.

Cheers!

Issue finally seems to be clearing up, Mr.Sanjeev called me yesterday up as well after I tried the no. given on the 'contact us' option of RCD.Said the same thing about the shipment being held up due non availability of cardboard tubes. I am not sure how long DTDC might take but Mr. Sanjeev assured that he will be sending my & VC's shipment in 1-2 days. whew! tension relieved ;D

if there's one thing i have to complain about rcdhamaka, is that they NEVER reply to emails!

but apart from that, it seems a nice store, although i am yet to receive my motor which is one week due now.

hoping it arrives soon! :)

Email is not a guaranteed delivery system... lots of thing can happen at the starting point, on the way, or even at the destination. And once there is a problem, in many/most cases, resending does not resolve it as the newer copy may suffer the same fate.

It does work most of the time though !

i have a very good experience with RCD... i received my items the next day i made payment...! not to mention they are very prompt in their service and very nice in their conversation..!  i would suggest all to have a talk on phone with the store owner ( during office hours) and resolve the issues rather than just posting bit -ve replies about some LHS...

please do the same only if there is a serious case that you have been trying to contact the person in every ways not only one (if emails are not replied have a phone conversation) if there is no result from all ways this can be the one but atleast wait for 2 weeks before posting

many beginners who are searching for a store will have a bad impression( specially after having such a harsh title)

we should also not forget that it is run by a fellow RC enthusiast and is just to make it easy for us all getting into RC. it is not a store ment for profit.. but for helping the RC community..!

 :salute: :salute:

anwar sir i think this thread should be locked...! the issue is resolved.!

Thank You all for the - & + for this thread.
A battery needs both to power-up.
The problem has been with the people who ordered CF rods and tubes, which reached people broken with the packing tubes we were using. Please at this point we are resolving the issue by using an upgrade ( better strenghth tube) for shipping. All the shipping will take place by Monday or Tuesday next. We would like a little patient from all our buyers as the tubes are not drying in time because of rain and dampness. We are very sorry for all the inconveinced caused. I hope people would understand. We are really sorry for the delay.

I have a very good experience with RD when I visited their store in Bangalore.Purchased some Carbon rods. It was nice of sanjeev to show me the models around and show me the Boat models in the store. The rods were neatly packed before handing over. I am sure to go back again.
