Title: Hello From Kolkata - Ashim
Post by: ashimda on November 26, 2013, 10:35:02 PM
Hi this is Ashim from Kolkata. Im a newbie in the RC modeling scene and have joined this forum to learn as much as possible, from the more experienced members.
My experience as far as models go is Sugar Rockets which was a while back. I have been doing a lot of research on the RC hobby and have pretty much finalized what I need to purchase as a beginner. First off I want to purchase The Sky Surfer. Some how all the online shops are out of stock. The second purchase I decided on was the FS-TH9X 9ch 2.4GHz transmitter & receiver. To my disappointment this product is also out of stock everywhere. :banghead:
This is the reason my first post is in the Wanted section. If any one has these items or can arrange them for me I would appreciate it very much.
My future plans are for FPV and feel the Sky Surfer would be a good investment long term as well. Any suggestions are welcome as I said I here to learn.

Regards Ashim.

Ashimda, bhalo achcho? Sugar rockets have been my passion for long. Even now, half a kg of rocket candy is sitting inside my freezer for the last two years.

Welcome to the forum!

Regards.

@VC Besh Bhalo achi. I would feel even better If someone could help me get the equipment I need to start my RC Hobby.
Sorry Moderators for posting in the wrong section, I'm just desperate to get some hands on experience. As far as I can tell, there is a lot of demand for the items I have mentioned. Seems a little odd no one has stock.

Ashim: write to RC Bazaar and ask them when stocks are expected

So can anybody here help me out in purchasing the stuff I mentioned in OT?
I was considering buying from sellers outside India but the hassle of customs and Kolkata's pathetic postal service scares me.  Would like to purchase from someone in India.

Have you seen what www.rcbazaar.com has to offer? You may see something that you like.

Irshad Anwar wont be of too much help. Wait for the models to come back in stock. Then buy it. And as VC said, there can be some other model you may like.

And as for FPV you need to be extremely proficient at flying. Just a few months of flying won't do. So you may as well get another model and learn on that. (Powered is better than glider)

I have visited RC Bazaar, in fact I have even book-marked their page. The problem is most of the good stuff is out of stock.

That seems like sound advice. I have been waiting for RC Bazaar to replenish its stocks for some time now, as far as choosing a different model, Any suggestions would be welcome.

Regards Ashim.

you could have a look at rcforall shikra glider or multiplex easystar.

Thank you Nitesh for the suggestion have checked their site. The Shikra looks like the Sky Surfer but not much info regarding the model. And I couldn't find the easystar.
The main problem is the radio. No one seems to have a decent 6ch Budget Tx. But things are looking up, just had a chat with RC.Hyderabad, and they have the RCB6I in stock. As far as I have read, its a good beginner radio.

Regards Ashim.

RCHyd seems to be pretty good LHS. It has lots of items and GUI is much cleaner compared to others. Now all hangs on service. Has anyone experienced this shop?

Would love to meet up and fly together, but Durgapur is fair click from my home. I live in South Kolkata near Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission.
