After a long planning process I'm finally ready to start the build! This project began in January of this year, when I decided to build my own Addiction XL, inspired mostly by the Thrilling flying characteristics of PA Addiction X.
The plane will also be entirely built-up from balsa and ply, except of course for the motor cowl and canopy.
Specifications
Wing span - 55" /1400mm
Length - 59" /1498mm
Drive System which I have is:-
Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 5045-500kv Brushless Motor
Turnigy Brushless ESC 85A w/ 5A SBEC
Turnigy nano-tech 3000mah 6S 25~50C Lipo
VOX 15x6 prop wooden propeller
it will be a scratch built, therefore it will not have any plan
Please dont PM me for any plans

Superb Tanmay {:)} {:)} {:)}
Closely following
@Sundaram Sir:- Thanks..
Fantastic Tanmay. This is going to be really good. Will be following most eagerly!
And yes, you keep the aeromodel, I'll keep the other model ;) ;)
@Sanjayrai55:- Thank you so much sir.
BTW, So far that's not true. I Have actually learnt so much from your build threads.
@umayash1
In the process of ogling pic no. 2,
all seniors missed the special crosswind landing undercart in pic no. 3!
Lol..
true, it is called "Pant assisted Braking" :giggle:
Continuing, here are some photos of the laser cut parts themselves, The parts will go into the Fuselage as well as in the wings. Each Balsa sheet is only 28" long due to the limitation of the laser cutting machine, which doesn't have a cutting area that will fit full length (36") balsa sheets.
Size of Lite-Ply Sheet is 1/8" x 15" x 29",They contain mostly the fuselage parts, but some parts for the wing are of Lite Ply as well.
......
Very professional . Where do you source your lite ply from?
All this while I was drooling over Tanmay's excellent laser cuts {:)} {:)} and contemplating how to whack off the complete kit. :giggle:
I have been for long planning on getting myself one of these for my OS FS-30.

Cost seems to me like slightly on higher side (Being used to hobbyking laser cut kits)
Tanmay How does your cutting costs including raw material fare in comparison to the above two?
@Sanjay Sir, Sundaram Sir:- PM Sent.
While I was waiting for the Plans to get Printed just tried a Dry fit, and see how it looks like.

Good one tanmay, exceptional in fact,
PS
Get ready for a email from Precision Aerobatics, somebody in US attempted to blowup addiction x (He did it too, i guess the idea of XL was born from there) he got a IPRish email from PA
@Sundaram Sir:- Thanks.
@Gusty Sir:- Lol, I Will wait for that. BTW, What do you mean by IPRish E-mail?
Continuing with some more Pictures..

Is there an emoticon for
my head is eating circles?Have to heed Sanjay sir's advice and turn off my iPad now...
(BTW, his advice was early to bed and early to rise, makes you halthy, walthy and vice)
@umayash1
Promise not to sidetrack your thread any more. It's your friends and admirers that encourage me...
Do not listen to Rai Saheb. Neither is he particularly healthy, nor does he have any vices. Therefore he scores only one out of three!
Tanmay, my apologies also.
Edited the error in syntax.
@Sundaram Sir:- For the time being I have been stuck up in some personal works, So not getting time to work on this since the last update, Will definitely start working on this again as soon as possible and will take this thread further.
@VC Sir:- Thank You sir, I used to Import the Light Ply.
But recently I got some Indian Light-Ply samples from Mr.Ganguly (Ahmedabad) also.
Not that perfect in quality as Poplar or Brich when compared. But it will do, I guess.
@Rai Sir:- Now to Understand your comments I'll need to learn "french" I guess.
@Iyer Sir:- Your Comments are always welcome sir. Comments from Seniors and Highly Experienced people like you and many others always motivate the spirit of Beginners like me to do something even better. Doesn't matter what your comment is, But It always reminds us the fact that we are moving further Under Guidance of Highly Experienced People.
Hi,
Well I am new to this forum and l have been wanting to build a PA Addition myself and the quest led me to your build. (:|~
First of all let me say Bravo, excellent build progress and hats off to you for a great deal of hard work
perfection
:goodjob:
best of luck
I really liked ur work on the addiction, well I have plans for the Mitsubishi KI-15 but don't have enough resources to start the build. The plans are CAD conversion of the plans by David P Andersen,
It would be my wish to post the build of the Mitsubishi as soon as I get time and resources.
Good work
Sir,
Plans are in the following page
http://www.mnbigbirds.com/Andersen%20Plans.htm (http://www.mnbigbirds.com/Andersen%20Plans.htm)
Design Specifications
Wingspan: 120" - 3.05m
Length: 83" - 2.11m
Weight: 30 lbs - 13.6K
Wing Area: 1900 sq in
Engine: 65cc - 100cc
 to the builder.
Kumaran
Yep the plans are there but those are only PDFs scanned files. One has to cut the parts manually in order to make the plane.
You are right. Is there is any CAD Drawings file ?
Someone Did try to convert them to CAD.
hi ashay i can convert these file into cad... :)
send a pdf file ...
file too long for posting
ohkkk
Any progress??? (:|~ need a fix of some progress, can't wait for the model to get completed.
Yes, Pending for a Long, I'll Take this in the Air ASAP.
Wow! amazing work :salute:
Please upload the plans. ;D
The wait is killing me :banghead: :banghead: :giggle:
+1 (:|~
+1 :'( :'(
Gusty has been the spoil sport here and scared Tanmay too much I believe. :giggle: :giggle:
:giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
@ Tanmay: good work :giggle:
A great aircraft and nice build. How are you taking care of Cowling and Canopy ? get a small mold made to vacuum form the Cowling and Canopy which are one of the trickiest parts to fabricate. In this way we can get them made in bulk and share the start up cost for molding.
Well
i didnt, i asked a guy who originally converted ADX to ADX XL in rcgroups, it was his mail, which said he cant share as he got some mail from PA
Why Gusty still being a spoilsport and Scaring Tanmay :giggle: :giggle:.
Yeah it definitely looks like addiction but it is a scratch built. He is not claiming its original Addiction. Like hell PA will be able to touch Tanmay for scratch built here in India.
I haven't got a time for a year now to get stuck with some precision Scratch Building.
I respect everyone is having their IP Rights, that's the exact thing I Haven't share the Plans till now like my other build threads where the Drawings Arrive before the building start.
I Promise This will gonna my best and cleanest build ever. Also about to finish my work of Converting it to a 30CC Setup. Also the Canopy and Cowl will build same as I did in my Katana 70.
Don't worry Tanmay It was nothing more than a friendly dig at Gusty who of late is tending to be more of an occasional lurker in the forum amongs't his very busy schedule. ;). Nothing personal or implied to anything or anyone.
Gusty I hope you are reading this. :giggle:
Nevertheless eagerly waiting to see the progress of the build.
PS : And of course a favorable consent on your part on the subject of my very old PM to you. ;)
You are right sandy, M phil and now Ph D top it all hospitalization, last year and half hasn't been easy ! read it now, yeah ! i agree, i am a lil less of a Maverick than Sandy, I am more like the 'Iceman' fly within the rules and regs guy :giggle:

Inverted
i am reminded of doing one, sometime ago, inverted landing, ground was nice and soft with lot of grass and it was Shillong

Hi, I was interested in how you finished the plane, since I haven't seen any recent posts from you.
