I want a 3 cell lipo battery which would be safe on a 3900kv brushless motor....i bent my old battery in a crash and now that battery is not discharging...
I don't think you can use a 3 cell LiPo in a Sparrowhawk XXT..
Go for a 2cell LiPo.. Look at any LHS, or order a hardcase LiPo from Hobbyking..
I would suggest a 2s 5000MaH 40c LiPo.
Hey, Get a 3600mah or above this time, i gave the 2200mah cz i was on budget.
Buy from HK, if u dont have Credit card, i'll order from my card. Its the cheapst and best.
Arpit

He has been using 3s on his sparrow from the begining, so no sense for him to shift down to 2s...
As far as I know, the ESC doesn't have a 3s cutoff..
Using an external BEC?
Eitherway,3s is suicide. >:D
I dont know about the specs...arpit knows everything :P
and yea i dont have a credit card...so you plz order it for me
Y is 3s not good? It has been running good...its a ezrun bl notor n esc
3s is too much power.Which EZrun system is it?
Its a 45A system, but has upto 4s LIPO COMPATIBILITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And thats Insane...
BTW suraj, I'll surely help you, but pls cal me after tomorrow. I am a lil busy, we can discuss more on the phone, i hope u still have my no. :D
And yeah, 3s is very fine for this system, this ESC can even support a 4s Lipo, though the motor will get hotter and the car cant hold that much power. Dont worry :)
Oh, I thought it was the stock ripper system :)
4s? Seems a little overkill ;D

3s is overkill.4s in stupidity. ;D
The stock ESC can support 3s and motor uses 61 amps max at 11.1v .
Ys Rajat, a lo of people think it cant support 3s, but it definitely can.
And BTW yeah Divyam, 4s is not a litlle , but too much of overkill...!
i somehow feel 2S in most cases or 4S for Dual battery setups like the Maxx and Savage to be the best combo.
3S and higher is good only for speed runs. and if u wanna get some high air while bashing ;D
And some high speed crashing :D
Yep. specifically in my case :P
crashed and broke 8 parts :'( and 2 of them not in stock anywhere in india.
Currently im running my phoenix's 7.2v 3600mah nimh on the sparrow....it is slower and also It runs for a short period of 15 mins...
Then I'd suggest a 2s LiPo.. Little more punch, for a MUCH longer time.
Word of advice, Stay AWAY from Tamiya connectors when using high power LiPos.. Had 2 of them melt :o
3s is insanity.. If you're used to 7.2v then 11.1v (3s) is monsterous! :o
EDIT| Sorry for say Traxxas, I blanked out instead of saying Tamiya :giggle:
Just had a runwith the nimh battery on my terrace...whenever i give more than 50% throttle the car stops and the motor restarts...is it due to the high current that flows(i dont have any connectors, ive directly joined the wires of the battery to the esc after cutting them)
Doubt its high current. If you battery is not charged this can happen. As you use power the V drops and ESC hits cutoff. Then V increases but drops again when current is drawn.
But in this case the battery is full charged!!! And it happens only after half throttle...
Check if your Low Voltage Cutoff is on..
Was running my Slash on NiMH today, and i forgot that the LVC was on..
The car moved for 1 metre and stopped.. I got scared as hell! I thought for 2 mins, and then the problem occured to me! LVC was on!
The same happened to me :D
So how do i turn it off??? I dont have a programming card for this esc!! :P

u serious??? any reason why?? because i used TRX connectors on the trackstar ESC and they are stock on the Maxx. No probs for me till now. can u describe what exactly happened.

Sorry, I blanked out, and said Traxxas instead of Tamiya :P
Edited my previous post. Traxxas are GREAT connectors..
On the other hand, I have had 2 Tamiya connectors melt, while using LiPO :o
That was on your BX????
Yes. On the stock brushed system.
Did the motor problem get resolved? Curious to know what the problem was.
I think 3 cell lipo battery (http://www.sp4mm3r.com/3s-11-1v-lipo-battery.html) is very good for sparrowhawk. I have a Gens ace 1000mAh 11.1V 25C 3S1P Lipo Battery Pack for my sparrowhawk, it can works well, the old battery can't discharge is very normal, every battery has its life, you need replace a new one .
