Post by: prabal276 on March 08, 2016, 11:03:57 AM
Hello;
I am searching for a IC LM3909
Any electronics store with ONLINE PAYMENT option out there?
I am not so bent on going out to the bank to do transfers cause our vehicle will not be with us for several days.
Regards

For the curious people out there:
I am planning to do a simple flashing circuit with it for my model railroad after my exams.

if all you want to do is flash leds - consider using a 555 which is available
in every neighbourhood

I usually buy electronic parts from Electron Components. They have the IC you're looking for here (http://www.electroncomponents.com/LM3909-LED-Flasher?filter_name=LM3909). However, as Saikat sir said a 555 timer is much easier to find. I actually soldered up a 555 blinker circuit for one of my schoolmates and it is quite a simple circuit.

EDIT: My bad looks like it is out of stock. Take a look at this (http://www.555-timer-circuits.com/flashing-led.html) for an idea on how to make the circuit with a 555 timer. I could solder one up for you if you're interested since I probably have all the parts lying around.

Here the circuit could go under the layout with only the led on the top.
Once again; flashing leds are tooo fast
