Dear friends
I need 40-46 size muffler for aircraft engine. I lost threadings and its unusable .
Let me know if anyone has one from a dead engine. Will pay accordingly.
THank you
Normally these are M3 threads. Drill out and retap with M4. Use M4 bolts
yes.. but the m4s doesnt go thru the 40 engine . i dont want to drill on the engine.
instead of buying you can get it casted from local foundry worker and then after get it machined accordingly . this would be more economic.
I bought it from tower paid like 1200-1300 bucks i dont remember now
Though go to a 'dhalai vala' for once they will help you out
actually i m going to cast one for myself next month . so if you have that much time i can get it done for you in my foundry shop.
dear,
why are u waste the money..? you just buy M3x50 long Alan screw with lock nut
put the screw from engine side & tighten The lock nut from Muffler side...just fixed.. ;D
regards
laxman
lock nut is the problem. its not getting on thru the threads.. not even any nut.
I have a spare 46ax silencer, but one side is damaged. the threading can be fixed by using helicoil. I have done it for a friend
side damage?? threading??
confused, the one I have is damaged.
yours can be repaired by using helicoil.
